Big Contest !

So, now that i’m almost at the end of my 2008-list I decided to do a little contest. Get ready!

What? Guess which albums are in my top 10. You get extra points if the albums are in the right place.

What can you win? A still sealed album of The Castanets (First Light’s Freeze, once bought it, but realized i already had it) OR an album by The Teeth OR an album by the High Strung.

How to Participate? Just put my supposed Top 10 in the Comments box. If you win, i’ll contact you.

Deadline? Enter your lists before 00.00 a.m/p.m (midnight) on Christmas (So the night between 24th & 25th). Before that time I won’t have any time to really update my blog.

To people who are just too lazy to participate: If you want any of these albums to give away to your friends on christmas. I’m always willing to trade one of these (yep, i’m trying to get rid of cd’s that are just lying here gathering dust)

Okey … I’ve been thinking about my guesses here the whole time since a read this … but since nobody posted something yet .. I’ll just be the first to start this lotto … cause i really don’t have any idea …

    1. Misophone – Be glad you’re only human … this is a foolish guess because you allready told it would come out to late to put it in your list … anyway … here it is πŸ˜€
I also coun’t really find an album to put high in this list … so now the problem is gone πŸ˜€

    2. The Morning Blenders – Talking trough tin cans

    3. Chad VanGaalen – Soft Airplane … a new cd of chad van Gaalen … Maybe ???

Mountain Goats – Heretic Pride … don’t know why this came dropping out of the air … it’s not in my list anyway …

    4. Fleet Foxes – Fleet Foxes … this year’s big hype … or maybe it’s to late too put that on this blog … they are already well known … anyway it’s from 2008 …

    5. Sun Kil Moon – April … anyway … it’s from 2008 … that’s the most important isn’t it ?

    6. Giant Sand – proVISIONS … Giand Sand, I never got the clue … but i’m nearly getting it so let’s try it on number 6 !!

    7. Baby Dee – Safe inside the day … I personally didn’t like this album …liked her previous work much more but this was a little break trough so why not?

    8. Timesbold – Ill Seen Ill Sung … nice 2008 cd … but maybe not lofi enough … πŸ˜‰

9.Lightspeed Champion – Falling Off The Lavender Bridge … haven’t heard this album but it was said to become great … once … i don’t really like it … anyway … it could end up somewhere in 2008’s list maybe once in a while πŸ˜€

    10. Mount Eerie – Dawn … Mount Eerie is already in the list so this is really a no chance one … also cause you said you’re not that big fan of them … but this is a really great one … especially the book form is great … i shouldn’t say that because i haven’t read the book yet … i have to study now … but i read he first pages … it seems to be a great thing πŸ™‚
Or … you can also replace this by Rook from Shearwater … wich won’t make a difference cause they won’t be in the list too (i guess)

Hmmm … this list seems to be a really bad guess … but at least i tried … and i was the first one who tried … so it’s an honour anyway πŸ˜‰

PS: I made a litte mistake in my list … was planning to put the Mountain goats in the list to but somehow it didn’t got a place and it seems its still somewhere there without a number … so you can ignore it πŸ˜€

I bet that Why?’s ‘Alopecia’ is in there somewhere… But then again, I might be considered having inside information. Not to worry! I won’t tell a soul.

    1) Misophone – Where Has It Gone, All The Beautiful Music Of Our Grandparents? It Died With Them, That’s Where It Went
Because this album wasn’t in your list last year, and it’s way too good to be in none of your lists.
    2) Fleed Foxes – Fleed Foxes
Because, indeed, it’s the breakthrough of the year.
    3) Will Cookson – Songs For A Sunday
Sounds like Nick Drake & co and since you like Nick and the album came out this year, it could be listed.
    4) Frontier Ruckus – The Orion Songbook
Cowboys and banjo’s, as it should be.
    5) Jacob Borshard – A Glow In The Dark
    as lofi as it gets.
    6) Timesbold – Ill Sing Ill Sung
smashing album, and don’t you deny it.
    7) Hauschka – Ferndorf
Not really lofi labeled, but nice stuff.
    8) The Delano Orchestra – a little girl, a little boy, and all the snails they have drawn
    Nice debute album
    9) The Olympic Symphonium
    Which was nice.
    10) Avishai Cohen Trio – Gently Disturbed
Too good to be missing in your 2008 list.

    FleeT Foxes it is πŸ˜‰

  7. BramBr Says:
